    • Moved across the Hudson River to Rhinebeck, Dutches s County and appeared
      in the tax lists for the county until 1778. He was elec ted as a surveyor
      for the King's Highway in April 1730. He was a farmer and o wned land on
      both sides of Saw Kill including 100 acres he bought from Jacob Van
      Bentheysen. He was listed as a freeholder in August 1740 and owned two
      slaves named Pamp and Bette. He signed a petition in support of the
      Revolutio nary War in 1775. [2]
