ELMER THORNTON
Retired Machinist's Rites
Are At 10 Tomorrow
Elmer Thornton of 2539 Tut-
wiler, a retired machinist for
Pidgeon-Thomas Iron Co., died
yesterday morning at Mem-
phis Veterans Hospital. He
was 71.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
tomorrow at Memphis Funeral
Home. Burial will be in Forest
Hill Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of
Tennessee, Mr. Thornton was
a member of Raleigh Method-
ist Church. He had lived in
Memphis since 1942.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lil-
lian Inez Reeves Thornton of
the Tutwiler address; two
daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean
Jobe of 2502 Princeton and
Mrs. Reba Inez Corder of West
Helena, Ark., a son, Larry
Thornton of 3739 Merritt, 11
grandchildren, and two great-
grandchildren.
